My only complaint about this hotel, however, is that they need to do more for the teenager. As it was hot and very humid for my liking, it was difficult for me during the hotest part of the day to do anything other then seek shade. Bucerias was a bit disappointing, Puerto Vallarta was fine for a day of shopping.ĥ) Activities - a decent amount of activities to participate in It seemed more so for the adults. Puerto Vallarta was about 40 minutes and 180 pesos away. Bucerias can be walked in 45 minutes along the beach or a 7 minute 70 peso taxi ride. You are right next door to the Riu but nothing else. Both the Italian and Mexican restaurants need reservations that you make with the activity team by the pool.Ĥ) Location - way the heck away from anywhere. My suggestion for those travelling with children, might be to go get them a hamburger or hot dog by 6:45 PM, just before the pool area restaurant closes. The Mexican restaurant, which is the pool area restaurant/bar by day, becomes the Mexican restaurant by night. The Italian restaurant was by far our favourite. Again, not superior quality, but enough to fill the appetite. They had hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, chicken, fish, salads. The restaurant/bar by the pool area was generally where you would go for lunch. Usually something for adults to choose from, but the kids, not so much. The main restaurant is buffet style, and although they have a fair selection to choose from, it did get a bit boring by day 4. Again, not Las Vegas by any stretch, but fun nonetheless.ģ) Food - this is a little dicey. Long 6 day week for these people, but they always seemed to have a smile. They worked the activity area by day, and worked the shows by night. All were great, specifically Manuel, Brittany, Tudy, Jody, etc. The activities people and animation team became our friends. Alway cleaning away a dirty dish or coming around to give you a fresh drink. The waiters in the restaurant, bar area and beach were great. We particulary liked the bar by the pool where Fermin worked. If I could, I would have brought her home with me to look after our house. My kids loved to come back to the room to see what she made. She would always turn the towels into one animal form or another. The housekeeping staff, at least the one we had in room 121, was incredible. We changed rooms on day 2 and they were more that happy to accomodate us. The front desk staff were in training and took a bit long, but not unbearable. The two men that greet you at the hotel are great. There are so many people working around the hotel to make sure everything looks good, that we never had any complaints.Ģ) Staff - all were extremely friendly. It may not be the Four Seasons, but it is always always clean. A lot of what I will say about the hotel, has been said many times before, but this is my honest assessment.ġ) Hotel appearance -it is a small property and it was attractive enough. I will describe it in point by point form. I thought I would post as a forum item rather than specific review of the hotel. Gustavo Diaz Ordaz International Airport is seven miles away.I just got back from the Samba Vallarta on July 31 and thought I would post my 1000 word essay.
